EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Step into magic land that is also a game board that comes to life in the Evergreen Park Recreation Department Candlelight Theatre ‘s new original holiday musical. “Daydreamland” opens this weekend in the Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan Ave. Performances are 7:30 pm. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and Dec. 10, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.

This original story, a Christmas adventure, tells the tale of a young girl who is transported into Daydreamland, through a magic game board of the same name. There, she finds the land is in danger and, with some new friends, she embarks on a journey to Crystal Hall to save the Queen.

As she follows “The Path of Many Colors” she meets an array of delightful characters along the way, before realizing that this trip has been a journey of self-discovery. Bouncy tunes and emotional moments make this musical a must-see. And of course, there’s Santa Claus.
