EP "FantaSciFest 2023" Celebrates Fantasy, Comics, Games

Annual fantasy fest brings Vendors, Dungeons & Dragons, Family Games and Art

Simply because Oktoberfest has come and gone does not mean there is a break for the Evergreen Park Recreation Department.

On Saturday, October 21, the Department will present its fourth Annual “FantaSciFest”. . .a day-long celebration of fantasy/comic/pop art from 11am – 3pm at the Evergreen Park Senior Center at 9547 S. Homan Avenue.

Scheduled vendors include: Rocky Sodin Comics, Titan’s Dawn (fantasy collectibles), MastaFran Comics (Original Fantasy Art), Rob’s Collectibles, Casual CosPlay, Nostalgia Corner (books), Mary’s Anime Shop, local author EE Hornburg, the EP Podcast and the EP Library.

You can also sit in a small movie theatre and watch some classic films!

Day-long games of Dungeons and Dragons will be taught and played. Visitors are welcome to dress as a favorite character, or a character of their own. CosPlayers are reminded that this is a family-friendly event, costumes must be appropriate for such.

If you are not a DnD player. . no worries! A family game area is available in the auditorium so that friends and family can sit and spend the afternoon having some board game fun; you can also explore your artistic creativity while coloring pages of spooky Halloween images.

The event will be free to the public, and refreshments will be available onsite benefitting our Evergreen Park Youth Department. Because it is a free event, visitors can come and go as often as they like. For more information, call (708) 229-3373, or drop a line to epfantascifest@gmail.com.
