EP Library Seed Swap Helps Gardeners Get Jump Start On Spring

The Evergreen Park Public Library hosts a seed swap Feb. 29. Trade seeds with other gardeners and get a jump start on your spring planting.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Experienced and newbie gardeners are invited to seed swap this Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Evergreen Park Public Library. The seed swap runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity for gardeners to prepare for their spring planting.

Bring saved or purchased seeds (non-GMO and organic). Seeds should be labeled with the name and growing information to trade with your fellow gardeners. Participants will learn how to jump-start their gardens by sowing seeds inside and learn how to winter sow seeds outside, too.

The seed swap also features two speakers. At 11 a.m., Mary Miritello will talk about the “Wonder of Seeds.” Marcia Lautanen-Raleigh will present “Herbology 101” at 1 p.m. Registration is required for both speakers.
