EP Library Seeks Businesses, Organizations For Teen Job Fair
The Evergreen Park library invites businesses and organizations to network with motivated youth at a Teen and Young Adult Job Fair April 20.
EVEERGREEN PARK, IL — The Evergreen Park Public Library is recruiting local businesses and organizations to participate in a job fair for teens ages 16 to 23. The Teen and Young Adult Job Fair will be held at the library from 6 to 8 p.m. April 20.
Motivated teens and young adults will be able to meet with potential employers, pick up interviewing tips, and submit applications. Teen employment rates have dropped by half since 2000. Only about a third of teens (34.6 percent) had a summer job last year, despite some recovery after the Great Recession, Pew Research Center reports. The reduced demand for low-wage work, minimum wage hikes, and competition from older workers or immigrants have also contributed to the decline in teen employment.
