EVERGREEN PARK, IL — It’s that time of year again when Evergreen Park residents renew their vehicle stickers. This year, the village is offering a much easier way for residents to purchase their 2020-21 vehicle stickers as the village rolls out its new “Sticker Quicker” program.

Designed with an eye on limited capacity in the Village Hall due to COVID-19, the “Sticker Quicker” program enables the resident to purchase the required vehicle stickers for their cars online with a credit card. The pre-printed applications were mailed to residents at the end of July and should have hit the mailboxes early this week.

The info on the applications reflects the automobiles that the village has registered in the system throughout 2020. Once receiving the applications, the residents will be able to the Village website and renew their vehicle stickers online using A debit/credit card to complete the transaction. The vehicle stickers will be mailed to them promptly.

“Making this process safe and easy for the residents is our first concern,” Village Clerk Cathy Aparo said. “Every year, the applications are mailed on August 1; yet, when the stickers come due on September 15, we have a rush in the Village Hall.”

“Because we are concerned about the safety of our residents, with limited capacity in the Village Hall, we really prefer that people get this taken care of online immediately without having to risk a trip to the Village Hall,” the village clerk added.

With so much uncertainty about which recovery phase that Illinois might be in come late summer or fall, the village moved quickly to get this online service in place.

“It was long overdue, regardless,” Aparo said.

Residents can still pay by check or money order by filling out the paper application and mailing it back in the return envelope provided. The Evergreen Park Village Hall parking lot drop box is available as well at 9418 S. Kedzie Ave. .

“Get it done early,” Aparo said. “You’ve got families and the summer and fall to enjoy as best you can, given the situation. So do it early and you’re done.”
