EPCHS Alum Jacob McLain Completes Basic Training, Becomes U.S. Marine

Pvt. McLain went through 13 weeks of rigorous basic Marine recruit training, including an intensive culmination known as "The Crucible."

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Private Jacob Austin McLain, a graduate of EPCHS' Class of 2021, is among the newest United States marines.

Pvt. McLain went through 13 weeks of rigorous basic Marine recruit training, including a 54 hour intensive culmination training event known as "The Crucible."

He has exceeded and endured all challenges to have earned the title, forever calling himself a United States Marine, Marines recruiter Sgt. Jonathan Wilson said.

Wilson added that not only does Pvt. McLain have Mustang Pride, but now an internal pride of belonging to the world's most notorious elite organization: the few, and the proud, the Marines.

Pvt. McLain graduated recruit training on August 12, 2022, and now is on post recruit training leave orders back here in Chicagoland.
