EPCHS Alum In The Spotlight: Dr. Raymond Strikas, Class Of 1971
Strikes, who lives in the Atlanta-area, worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a leading expert on vaccines.

Dr. Raymond A. Strikas, EPCHS Class of 1971, has retired as the seasonal and influenza coordinator for the National Vaccine Program Office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He spent many years employed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"I spend my time reading, exercising, some cooking, and take a class at the local state university when I can," Strikas, who lives in the Atlanta-area, said. "When travel is easier to manage, we have tentative plans to visit national parks in the U.S. and Canada, tour France, and visit all the Major League Baseball parks, probably spread out over the years."
Strikas remains one of the nation’s leading experts on immunization, vaccination and infectious disease. Most of his work for the U.S. Public Health Service was on policy and health education regarding vaccines, he said.
