EPCHS Hosts Moraine Valley’s High School Welding Competition
Caleb Kulovitz won the top prize - a $1,000 scholarship - for placing first among 18 participants from EPCHS and Argo.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL – The Moraine Area Career System/Moraine Valley Community College High School Welding Skills Competition was held at Evergreen Park Community High School’s metal room on Wednesday.
Nine students from EPCHS joined another nine from visiting Argo Community High School in an all-day competition that combined shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and a written exam.
Caleb Kulovitz, an EPCHS student, took home the top score among all participants and won a $1,000 scholarship. Argo students Mateusz Pawlikowski and Jacob Niemiec took second and third place, respectively.
