EPCHS Hosts Sounds from the Stadium with "The World of Tomorrow"
Special guests included the EPCHS Beginning Band, the Central Middle School Concert Band and Director, Mr. Mark Dreyer.
The Evergreen Park Community High School Fine Arts Department held the Annual Sounds from the Stadium on October 23 to the theme, “The World of Tomorrow.” In addition to the EPCHS Mustang Marching Band and Color Guard, there were special guests including the EPCHS Beginning Band, the Central Middle School Concert Band and Director, Mr. Mark Dreyer.
A variety of outstanding musical performances were provided. Following the Star Spangled Banner and the EP Victory song, the Beginning Band performed School Spirit (on Wisconsin) and Carnival of Venice, and the Central Middle School Band performed Grenade and Ghostbusters.
The Mustang Marching Band and Color Guard presented many of the pop tunes that have been featured in the stands at home football games this year as well as its competitive field show, "The World of Tomorrow." Using familiar themes and original music by John Fannin, the show represented the exhibit from the 1939 World's Fair of the same name and reminded us that advances in technology can be both a help and a hindrance. Soloists included: Isaiah Blalock, Angela Bosch, Miguel DeArcos, Liam Duffy, Julian Flannigan, Ryan Galindo, Liam Kantzler, Ernie Knight, Hope Michalek, Molly Miller, Shioban Moran, Nicole Mutnansky, Emily Ryan, Kelly Scanlon, Julieanne Shannon, Shannon Sistrunk, and Deaglan Sullivan.

The audience favorite at this concert is the George Parks Memorial March Off, a game of "Simon Says" for marching bands that is named after George Parks, the former Director of the University of Massachusetts band and the founder of the George Parks Drum Major Academy for Bands of America. This year's march off winner was senior clarinetist Angela Bosch.
The Senior Band and Color Guard students were then recognized and thanked for their contributions throughout their high school career. These students were: Alivia Aldape, Ciara Black, Isaiah Blalock, Angela Bosch, Andrew Corona, Liam Duffy, Sean Duffy, Cameron Dunlap, Myles Hines, Isaiah Jones, Liam Kantzler, Maya Lopez, Vianey Martinez, Shannon Miller, Jasmine Monroe, Ian Moran, Shioban Moran, Brooke Scanlon, Julieanne Shannon, Shannon Sistrunk, Annabel Viravec and Bill Zurella.
