On Wednesday, March 13, Evergreen Park Community High School inducted 31 juniors and seniors into the school’s National Honor Society (NHS). Even though these students have been active in NHS since October, it all became official at the ceremony.
The inductees were: Alivia Aldape, Ciara Black, Angela Bosch, Colin Brennan, Maria Cannon, Madelynn Cosgrove, Katrina Del Rosario, Sinead Doogan, Emily Doran, Liam Duffy, Kallista Elwood, Regina Gonzalez, Kathleen Jacobson, Liam Kantzler, CJ Kompare, Morgan Markowicz, Kassandra Martinez, Ruby Mendoza, Sarah Meyer, Matthew Miglieri, Thomas Murphy, Kevin O’Toole, Haley Ortell, Dasiah Ray, Anthony Richter, Evelina Rudzinskas, Brooke Scanlon, Sierra Spencer Paredes, Michael Schulte, Annabel Viravec, and Rachel Witte. Also at the event, 25 returning senior members were honored for their dedication to making EPCHS a wonderful school and community.
Dr. Tracy Crump Ph.D., LL.M, a Criminology professor from St. Xavier University, delivered a wonderfully relevant keynote address to the new members who were charged with continuing to share their light with the world. The National Honor Society is more than just an honor roll; NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
