EPCHS Homecoming Parade Rained Out

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — UPDATE — The Evergreen Park Community High School homecoming parade set for Friday, Oct. 13, has been canceled due to rain. The EPCHS-Argo game at 7 p.m. is still on. Bring some plastic to set on.

Students will celebrate homecoming with all kinds of crazy stunts and theme days planned for spirit week, like Oppenheimer vs. Barbie and Dynamic Duos. Residents are invited to show their Mustang Pride at the homecoming parade followed by the big game later in the evening Friday, Oct. 13.

The parade steps off at 3:30 p.m. Friday from the high school at 9901 S. Kedzie Ave. and features bands, floats, teams and clubs, along with the EPCHS homecoming court. Goodie bags will be handed out to kids along the parade route.

The parade will head west on 100th Street to Clifton Park Avenue, south on Clifton Park to 101st Street, east on 101st Street to Sawyer Avenue, north on Sawyer to 100th and back to the school.

Come back in the evening for the football game, when the Mustangs (5-2) play host to the Argo Community High School Argonauts (4-3). The freshmen/sophomore game happens at 4:30 p.m., with the varsity team taking the field at 7 p.m.

Watch for teens in the local salons or shopping for at Evergreen Plaza for new threads in preparation for the homecoming dance Saturday, Oct. 14. The dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. in the EPCHS large gym, 9901 S. Kedzie Ave.
