EPCHS Sets School Twinning Record With 9 Sets of Twins
Evergreen Park Community High School boasts nine sets of twins in its freshman class.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Evergreen Park Community High School has set a school twinning record with nine sets of twins enrolled in the freshman class. Principal Bill Sanderson said he was alerted by the registrar over the summer of the incoming bumper crop of twins. The number of twin sets is extradordinary for the small school because there are approximately 200 members in the Class of 2022.
“We knew in the summer they were coming,” Sanderson said. “It’s almost ten percent of our freshman class.”
The nine twinnings include three sets of boy-girl twins, and the rest male twins. Most of them graduated from Dist. 124’s Central Middle School. In a feat not unlike herding cats, the twin sets assembled for a group photo in the school gym. Joshua Kulovitz, who was at football practice, almost didn’t make the photo shoot. He’s an inch taller and five minutes older than his brother Evan.

“We have biology, algebra, gym and lunch, which we usually eat together,” April said. “We’re pretty close most of the time.”
“We’ve known for awhile there’s a lot of twins in our class since Central,” Nathan said.
Christopher is older than his brother, Christian, by one minute. Christian wants to be an EMT specialist in the healthcare field. Christopher is shooting for the NFL.
“I’m stronger than him and in more activities,” Christopher said. “I’m trying to work out what I want to do.”
In nearby Oak Lawn, Sward Elementary School reported eleven sets of twins in 2016, breaking a 1956 school record that counted nine sets of twins.
New Trier High School in Winnetka set two Guinness World Records in 2018 for most twins and most multiples in a single academic class. The sophomore class boasted 44 sets of twins and one set of triplets.
