EPCHS Student Honors Her Brother's Military Service Through Art

Upon graduating, Logan Floyd enlisted in the Marine Corps, and has been stationed in Okinawa Japan for the last two years.

As we celebrate this Memorial Day weekend, remembering the sacrifices and service of our men and women in the U.S. Armed Services, Evergreen Park was able to celebrate the homecoming of Marine Corps Logan Floyd (Evergreen Park Community High School Alumni).

Upon graduating, Logan enlisted in the Marine Corps, and has been stationed in Okinawa Japan for the last two years. His sister, current student Elizabeth Floyd, decided that her piece for Mr. Minarik's “Hero Art Project” would be a portrait of her brother in uniform. Elizabeth says, “Joining the military takes a lot go bravery and commitment and he worked hard for it.”

Recently, Elizabeth received an Honorable mention in the EPCHS art show for the piece, entitled “Two Years,” and was able to share it with her brother Logan this weekend after not seeing him for two years.
