EPCHS Students Collecting Pet Food For Tinley PAWS After Dryer Fire
Evergreen Park Community High School students are holding a pet food drive for the displaced shelter pets through Friday, Jan. 26.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Big-hearted Evergreen Park Mustangs are holding a pet food drive for the P.A.W.S. Tinley Park animal shelter, which suffered a devastating dryer fire last week, displacing 100 animals waiting for their forever home. More than 20 needed oxygen for smoke inhalation.
From now through Jan. 26, students will be collecting canned can food, canned dog food, and dog and cat toys for the shelter so they can continue to care for these animals despite their mounting medical and repair bills. Towels and blankets are also needed.
Students who bring in one or more cans of food will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win $100 in cash. “If every Mustang brought one can, we could feed them all for nearly a week,” said fine arts teacher Amy Kazin, who is coordinating the pet food drive.
