EPCHS Students Experience Raku Workshop
Raku is a type of firing process where the oxygen is reduced causing a chemical reaction that results in bright and rich colors.
A little rain last week didn't stop students in the EPCHS Ceramic Sculpture Jewelry Class from participating in a Raku workshop. Raku is a type of firing process where the oxygen is reduced causing a chemical reaction that results in bright and rich colors.
The students created their own original designs that they were able to fire and see the process from start to end. Teacher Tom Minarik said, "This type of firing is a rare experience and the students had an amazing time watching the transformation of their artwork."
