EPCHS Students Impress At Regional High School Art Exhibition

EVERGREEN PARK, IL – Student artists at Evergreen Park Community High School accounted for two of the six overall individual awards at the Regional High School Art Exhibition. The exhibition included 17 high schools across the south suburbs and Northwest Indiana this past weekend at South Suburban College in South Holland.

EPCHS student Olivia Doran won the Great Clay Award for her large ceramic plant, and fellow Mustang Elliott Douglas took home an honorable mention in the 2-D category for his charcoal portrait. Lily Tushkowski’s self-portrait earned her EPCHS’ “Best of School” honor.

More than 350 artworks were part of the exhibit from students at Bishop Noll, Bloom, Bloom Trail, Bremen, Eisenhower, Evergreen Park, Griffith, Hillcrest, Munster, Oak Forest, Oak Lawn, TF North, TF South, Thornridge, Thornton, Thornwood and Tinley Park high schools.

Other individual winners from the art show included Ava Ragvsin of Bloom Trail (Best in Show 2-D), Malachi Williams of Thornwood (Best in Show 3-D), Hiba Fayoma of Munster (Honorable Mention 3-D) and Shane Anthony of Griffith (Great Clay Honorable Mention).
