EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Evergreen Park Community High School is going to try again to honor one of its own with a uniform retirement ceremony for former Mustang Donn Pall, a class of 1980 alum.

The ceremony is reset for 5:15 p.m. on Monday, May 16 at Tony Vacco Field (the EP baseball field), just before the Evergreen Park varsity team plays against Shepard High School. The fields are located behind the high school at 99th Street and Kedzie Avenue, off 99th Street.

Donn Pall, a former World Series-winning pitcher who played for the Chicago White Sox and graduated from Evergreen Park Community High School, excelled at EPCHS and in college baseball at the University of Illinois.

Pall spent 11 seasons in Major League Baseball, pitching for the White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs and Florida Marlins. He was a member of the 1997 World Series championship Marlins team.

A last-minute scheduling conflict postponed Pall's number retirement ceremony last month. Another ceremony planned for former Mustang Jim Adduci was rained out on his one free day from the Chicago Cubs, where he currently serves as run production coordinator. Adduci made it in later for a private number retirement ceremony.
