Northeast Elementary and TrueCare Teaching Online Safety to Parents and Students

Northeast Elementary is taking a proactive role in promoting cyber safety to parents by offering an informational and pioneering safety program that will be held on October 4th at 7:00 pm.

The cyber safety program is aimed to raise awareness about Internet safety and the broad range of issues and risks that kids today face on the Internet such as cyberbullying, predators and defamed reputations.

Mike Skarr, TrueCare Advisor, will present to students and parents on the importance of cyber safety and open discussion as a family. “As the Internet becomes more important to our lives, parents and educators must work together to teach kids intelligent habits for using social media. Failure to do so exposes our kids to cyber bullying, sexual predators, and damaged reputations,” says Skarr.

Northeast Elementary has already taken a hands-on first step in cyber safety and awareness by partnering with TrueCare.com earlier this year. Through the partnership, the school offers TrueCare’s social media monitoring tools to their parent populations to help keep the kids safe online, while also utilizing the relationship as a fundraising opportunity for the school.
