Safe Driving Program Sponsored by AARP

The AARP is sponsoring a Defensive Driving Program at the Office of Citizens' Services, located inside of the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center,  3450 W. 97th St.

The event will be held on Oct. 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendance on both days is required. This refresher course reviews rules of the road for adults age 50+. You may sign up for the class in-person or mail a check made payable to AARP (including your name, address and phone number) to the Office of Citizens' Services at the above address. 

For AARP members, the fee is $12; for non-members, $14. Be sure to bring your AARP card to the first class for verification.

In addition to updating your driving knowledge and skills, the organization said you may be eligible for a discount on auto insurance after completing the course.              

Organizers are asking those interested to register as soon as possible because class size is limited.
