Evergreen Candlelight Theatre Presents 'Jerry Finnegan's Sister'

Acclaimed comedy set for two performances only March 19 and March 20.

Evergreen Park Candlelight Theatre’s presentation of the acclaimed comedy “Jerry Finnegan’s Sister” hits the boards with two performances only on March 19 and March 20.

Written by Jack Neary, the play tells the story Brian Dowd, whose carried the torch for his best friend’s sister, Beth Finnegan, for ten years. Whenever he tries to talk to Beth, he ends up with his foot in his mouth. Hearing that she’s about to get married, it’s time for Brian to “put up or shut up.”

“Jerry Finnegan’s Sister” will be performed at the Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan Ave. Performances are at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19, and an afternoon-dinner show at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20. (please arrive at 1:15 p.m. for dinner).

Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday performances are $12 for adults; $10 for seniors and students.

A pre-paid dinner buffet is offered 90 minutes before the Sunday afternoon performance for $22. Reservations are required for dinner.

The theater offers a mix of small banquet tables and row seating, which make up an intimate theatre experience. To purchase or reserve tickets, call 708-229-3343 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
