Evergreen Park American Legion Plans Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony

Residents are encouraged to join the veterans of American Legion Post 450 for a Memorial Day remembrance ceremony Monday, May 27.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Members of American Legion Post 854 will conduct their annual Post Everlasting ceremony Monday, May 27, which is Memorial Day. Residents are encouraged to join veterans at 10 a.m. at 97th Street and Kedzie Avenue to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The parking lot will be blocked off for the ceremony, so people are encouraged to get there by 9:30 a.m.

American Legion members will post their colors and lay a wreath to honor those who’ve fallen advancing the flag for our country. The ceremony will conclude with a 21-gun salute and Taps.
After the ceremony, veterans will go inside the American Legion hall to remember Post 854 members who passed away in 2024.
