Evergreen Park American Legion Post 854 Plans Memorial Day Ceremony

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Members of American Legion Post 854 will conduct their annual Post Everlasting ceremony Monday, May 30, which is Memorial Day. Residents are encouraged to join veterans at 10 a.m. at 97th Street and Kedzie Avenue to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The remembrance ceremony will include bagpipers from Chicago as American Legion members post their colors and lay a wreath to honor those who’ve fallen advancing the flag for our country. The ceremony will conclude with a 21-gun salute and Taps.

After the ceremony, veterans will go inside the American Legion hall to remember Post 854 members who passed away in 2021.
