Evergreen Park Baseball Had Senior Standouts
The Mustangs, who concluded the season with a 4-1 loss to Joliet Catholic Academy in the JCA Regional championship game, had their share of clutch players.
Here are some of the Mustangs' individual highlights from the 2011 season:
- Senior Josh Venhuizen hit a team-high .397 and led the Mustangs with 27 RBIs.
- Senior Brian Heisterman hit .379 with 16 RBIs, three home runs and 20 runs scored.
- Senior Kevin Schwer hit .349 with 18 RBIs, three home runs and 20 runs scored.
- Senior Dan Cronin hit .313 with 13 RBIs, four home runs and 24 runs scored. On the mound, Cronin had five saves and a 2.02 ERA.
Rice RB Walker Commits to Central Michigan
Brother Rice running back Martez Walker has verbally committed to play at Central Michigan, the Chicago Tribune reports.
