CHICAGO -- An Evergreen Park college freshman has won a prestigious Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship. Maeve McGuire will start her fifth summer as a caddy at Beverly Country Club.

McGuire attends Indiana University where she majors in business. While attending Marist High School, McGuire was involved in clubs, served as a student ambassador and was a member of the girls’ golf team.

Marist High School has 180 Chick Evans Scholars in its school history. The Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation provides full tuition and college house for golf caddies. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, all applicants must have a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character. Applicants are evaluated and compete on the above criteria for the limited number of awards given annually.
