Evergreen Park Community High School Students Say #NEVERAGAIN

Compassionate EPCHS students organize week's worth of activities to bring awareness to issue of gun violence in schools and communities.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Evergreen Park Community High School organized a week’s worth of activities to bring awareness to the issue of gun violence in schools and communities. EPCHS Principal Bill Sanderson facilitated a group of girls who came to him wanting to make a difference. The activities were held in the week and in place of the April 20 National School Walkout.

The girls ordered orange ribbons for all staff and students to wear that read “End Gun Violence #NEVERAGAIN.” Over 900 orange ribbons were made and passed out to every student. Throughout the week, the girls placed inspirational words of kindness on every student locker at Evergreen Park Community High School. The girls also read positive messages during morning announcements, including facts and statistics of gun violence in schools.

The activities were spearheaded by Keegan Cassidy, Maddie Cosgrove, Neema Griffin, Taylor Hoefler, Savannah Judy, Erin Knight, Daniela Salazar, Dana Sanders, Nyah Tsai, Meche Watson, and Lori Wilson.
