Manhattan Short Film Fest At Evergreen Park Library Ends Monday

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Manhattan Short Film Festival returns to the Evergreen Park Public Library, featuring ten outstanding films from six continents. The library has showings planned for Sept. 22, Sept. 24 and Sept. 26. Film buffs will not only get to view the films, they will have a chance, as part of a worldwide audience, to cast their vote for their favorite film and actor from their respective venues.

In the past, more than 80 libraries from across the USA have joined the event with great success, producing an enthusiastic response from the participating libraries and their filmgoers. The short films, each no longer than 20 minutes, will be shown from Sept. 22 to Oct. 2 from over 400 screening venues around the world.

Showings at the Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave., will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 with a wine and cheese reception, and Saturday, 1 p.m. Sept. 24. The festival will be running all day Monday, Sept. 26, with approximate start times at 9:15 am, noon, 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.

The ten finalists in the 2022 edition of the Manhattan Short Film Festival are:

  • “Freefall” (France)
  • “Fetishhh” (USA)
  • “Freedom Swimmer” (Australia and France)
  • “The Blanket” (Finland)
  • “Warshia” (France and Lebanon)
  • “The Big Green” (France)
