Evergreen Park National Honor Society Hosts Veterans Breakfast
Evergreen Park Community High School National Honor Society hosted 32 veterans and their families at annual Veterans Breakfast.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The National Honor Society of Evergreen Park Community High School hosted its annual Veterans Breakfast and the turnout was one of the largest in recent memory. Thirty-two veterans and their families attended the breakfast provided by the amazing EPCHS Kitchen Staff.
This was the 15th year for the breakfast under current NHS leadership and each year it has grown in number of guests. Amazingly there are guests who have been to all 15 breakfasts.
During breakfast the members of NHS are paired up with a veteran guest. The NHS member interviewed their veteran and introduced the veteran at the end of the program.

Evergreen Park Mayor Kelly Burke attended as well, who addressed the guests. New additions to the breakfast over the past few years have been the inclusion of a place setting for those soldiers missing in action and having two students, Ilaan Wheeler and William Rodriguez, playing Echoing Taps on their trumpets.
The National Honor Society is preparing for its annual induction ceremony and Toys for Tots drive. New toys can be dropped off at the front desk security at EPCH, 9901 S. Kedzie Ave.. Please contact NHS sponsor Mr. Nesler at bnesler@evergreenpark.org to find out how to donate to local families.
