Evergreen Park Sweeps SSC Softball Coach, Player Of Year Awards
The South Suburban Conference named Michelle Vucsko its Softball Coach of the Year and Lily Strand its Softball Player of the Year.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Evergreen Park Community High School swept the South Suburban Conference Softball Coach and Player of the Year awards, the school was informed on Tuesday.
Michelle Vucsko, in her seventh year at the helm of the Mustang program, was named the South Suburban Conference Softball Coach of the Year.
Vucsko led the Mustangs to more than 20 wins in 2022, notching one of the best records among all softball teams in the south suburbs. In conference, Evergreen Park notched an impressive 17-2 mark.

In addition, junior pitcher and leadoff hitter Lily Strand became the first Mustang ever to win the South Suburban Conference Softball Player of the Year award.
Strand was dominant on the mound all season, which began with a 27 strikeout performance in a scoreless tie with St. Ignatius that went 14 innings. She pitched multiple complete games, no-hitters and one hitters, and twice shutting out rival Oak Lawn.

The Mustangs will host the regional round of postseason play on Friday.
