FantaSciFest Combines 3 Fests In One Saturday In Evergreen Park

Fantasy, comics, SciFi, Dungeons and Dragons, vendors and cosplayers featured at FantaSciFest Oct. 30 at Evergreen Park Senior Center.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Get in touch with your inner nerd at the Evergreen Park Recreation Department’s second annual FantaSciFest Saturday Oct. 30. The day-long celebration of fantasy, comic, pop art and culture runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan Ave.

The event will feature vendor tables for artists and sellers who would like to display or sell their artwork or merchandise, all within this genre being celebrated. Day-long games of Dungeons and Dragons will be taught and played. A film program will run throughout the day, with topics and material to interest spectators of all ages. Visitors are welcome to dress as a favorite character, or a character of their own. CosPlayers are reminded that this is a family-friendly event, costumes must be appropriate for such. More events are being planned.

The event will be FREE to the public, and refreshments will be located onsite. Because it is a free event, visitors can come and go as often as they like. Face masks will be mandatory. Trick-or-treaters can stop by anytime for a free trick-or-treat bag and to be entered into a raffle to an Evergreen Park business. A jumpy house will be in the lot until 2 p.m. and at 4 p.m., CosPlayers will take to the stage.
