FantaSciFest Offers Fantasy, CosPlay, Games This Saturday
Fantasy, comics, pop art, SciFi, Dungeons and Dragons, vendors and cosplayers featured at FantaSciFest Feb. 22 at Evergreen Park Sr. Center.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Join the Evergreen Park Recreation Department for a day of fantasy, comics, pop art, SciFi, Dungeons and Dragons, plus vendors cosplayers and entertainment. The first FantaSci Fest kicks off Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan. Admission is free.
Whether your interest is in movies, or fantasy/sci-fi or any "wing" of pop art, this event might be for you. Come visit artists, vendors or sit down in the screening room to view genre films. Baby boomers might enjoy the discussion and presentation on the old home movie market, including those Castle Films you could purchase at any store and watch Abbott and Costello or the old horror movie classics.
Are you a CosPlayer? Dress up as your favorite character, or create a new one. There will bee a competition in the evening, or join Dungeons and Dragons. Anyone can play.

The day-long fest is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Vendor tables will close eat 5 p.m. A food tent will be onsite with refreshments for lunch and snacks sold onsite by the Evergreen Park Youth Department.
There are still some 8’ X 9’ vendor spaces are available in the main hall to sell merchandise for a low price of $30. Fill out the application and return it to the Evergreen Park Community Center, 3470 S. 97th St. For more info, direct questions to EPFantaSciFest@gmail.com.

10 a.m. - Festival Opens
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Adults and Kids Board Games (Lower Level).
10 a.m. to noon - Film program, Main Stage, "Saturday Morning Cartoons."
10:15 a.m. - Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons (Lower Level Dungeon Room)
(Four Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, accommodating up to 16 people each, will take place at 10:30 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.) led by Tommy Jakubczak and Andrew Kenny
10:30 a.m. - CosPlay 101 Panel, “Developing an original character” (lower level) taught by Natalie Danilos and Brianna Mooney.
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Evergreen Park Fire Department jump house in the south driveway.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Food tent, parking lot, Evergreen Park Youth Department
11:30 a.m. - CosPlaying Panel, “Wigs" (lower level)
Noon - Film program, Main Stage, "Creature Features: Remembering 8mm Castle Films Home Movies," (Glenn Pniewski)
1 p.m. - Main Stage, "One Noisy Knight,” Renaissance comedy performed by Julius Fassl
2 p.m. - Main Stage, Feature Film Presentation
2:30 p.m. - "CosPlaying - Makeup 101" panel, lower level
3 p.m. - "CosPlaying: Playing the Conventions."
4 p.m. - Main Stage: "Songs From The Movies" performed and played by vocalist Lindsay Foreman
5 p.m. - Vendor booths close
6 p.m. - Main Stag, CosPlayer Performance and Competition ($5 entry fee for performers)
