Free Concert And Fireworks Planned For Labor Day At 50-Acre Park
South Side native Rich Daniels and his City Lights Orchestra will perform a free concert at 50-Acre Park on Sept. 6, followed by fireworks.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Village of Evergreen Park has shaken up the summer calendar and will hold some events normally scheduled for Independence Day events on the Labor Day holiday, including a concert in the park and fireworks show.
South Side native Rich Daniels brings his renowned, 32-piece City Lights Orchestra to 50-Acre Park, 91st Street and Rockwell Avenue, for a free concert starting at 5 p.m. Sept. 6 (Labor Day), followed by a fireworks display that will blast off around 8 p.m.
City Lights Orchestra plays classic standards from George Gershwin and Woody Herman, Glen Miller and Benny Goodman, as well as tunes from Hollywood film scores and Broadway shows. In addition to corporate gigs and charity galas, CLO has also backed up singers Ray Charles, Mel Torme, Michael Bolton and Dionne Warwick and comedians Jay Leno and Rich Little.
