Generations Gather To Fill Back Packs For Kids Facing Homelessness
Queen of Martyrs students joined Mercy Circle residents in spreading Easter joy by fill backpacks for children experiencing homelessness.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Seventh-graders from Queen of Martyrs School joined residents at Mercy Circle to pack Easter bags for homeless children served by Margaret’s Village, a transitional shelter serving the South Side. The students made friendship bracelets with each child’s name to help spread the hope and joy of the Easter season.
Michal Muhammad, development director for Margaret’s Village, talked to the students about homelessness and the services provided at Believe and Marie Shelters. The project was organized by seventh-grade teacher Michelle Mohr.
