Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Flips On The Hot Light Oct. 10 in Evergreen Park

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be flipping the switch on its Hot Light in Evergreen Park with an official grand opening on Oct. 10. The new shop will be located at 9150 S. Western Ave. Glazed doughnut fans can expect a new rebranded design to create a classic welcoming atmosphere where customers can relax and enjoy their krispy treat and a cup of joe.

The highly anticipated grand opening of Krispy Kreme in Evergreen Park will honor the first 300 customers in line (drive-thru customers not included) with:

• One free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year for customers 1 through 100.
• One free Krispy Kreme coffee tumbler which includes unlimited refills of Krispy Kreme smooth drip coffee for 99-cents for customers 101-300.
• The first customer in line will also have the honor of turning on the Hot Light.
• Customers must be present in line until doors open at 6 a.m. to retain their line number.

The opening day celebration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the acclaimed Evergreen Park Community High School Mustang Marching Band rolling in the festivities. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. with village dignitaries and many more surprises.

The Evergreen Park location is the second Krispy Kreme shop to open in the Chicago area since 2007, following on the heels of Homewood’s successful launch in January, which churned out 57,000 doughnuts a day during its first two weeks of business. In addition to inside seating, the Evergreen Park location will also house a drive-through.

“I am thrilled to welcome Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to Evergreen Park,” Mayor Jim Sexton said in a news release. “Their new location in our commercial district is a great addition to the village. I know the community will welcome its classic treats.”

The shop will feature Krispy Kreme’s legacy doughnuts, such as its signature Original Glazed, Glazed Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Iced with sprinkles from the traditional menu. New seasonal recipes will also spice up the menu during the rest of the year. For a refreshing sip, the shop will feature a drink menu including Krispy Kreme Smooth drip coffee, crafted specialty lattes, and Frozen Chillers from Krispy Kreme’s café favorites.

The Evergreen Park Krispy Kreme will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will house a drive-thru open until midnight.
