Last Minute Rally at Lexington House Brings Out Republicans
World War 2 vet, Chester Kijak from Evergreen Park meets Bruce Rauner at Republican rally.

Waving American flags and holding signs reading, “100 years is Enough Vote For Change,” 600 supporters stood in the ballroom of the Lexington House waiting for Bruce Rauner.
“It’s time for a change,” said Jerry Bosch Jr. from Evergreen Park. “This year I’m Republican.”
Sunday night, local Republicans Liz Doody Gorman from Orland Park and Sean Morrison from Palos Park pumped up the crowd at Lexington House in Hickory Hills. “Save our State,” shouted Gorman. “Tell everyone to get out and vote, “added Morrison. “ We need you guys.”

As Rauner entered the ballroom, cheers rose and the party started. When Rauner got onstage, World War 2 vet, Chester Kijak from Evergreen Park reached out to shake his hand. “Go get him Bruce,” said Kijak. Looking younger than his 90 years, the veteran kept waving a Rauner sign as he danced in the front row.
When Rauner’s wife, Diana introduced him, the crowd chanted his name. “Bruce, Bruce…Bruce”

‘’We’re all in and ready to work for you” adds Rauner. “This is our time, this is our message, 100 years of failure is enough.
“The families of Illinois are phenomenal, “ he continued, “ I’m standing for lower taxes, the best schools in America, let’s bring back Illinois. “
As he left the stage, supporters trying to get close to take a photo with the candidate. Brothers Lucas and Steven Hawley from Tinley Park took a selfie with Rauner.
Israel Smith, Republican committeeman from Rich Township echoed what most of the crowd were talking about.
“This is a vital election to Illinois and to the Illinois Republican party,” said Smith. “There are a lot of hard decisions that need to be made to turn Springfield and Illinois around. I hope to see Bruce make Illinois more friendly to business and to curb the wasteful spending and corruption in our political system.”
