LePar Animal Hospital Offers Current Clients Vaccinations for Fast-Spreading Canine Influenza
First-come, first-serve basis Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

An upper respiratory infection striking Chicago-area dogs is now being diagnosed as Canine Influenza.
Due to the swiftness that this disease is spreading, veterinarians at LePar Animal Hospital are taking measures to protect pets by offering a vaccine clinic this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis only, for as long as the supply of vaccines lasts. Here is how it will work:
- To receive a vaccine, your dog must be healthy and have been examined by a LePar Animal Hospital doctor within the last 12 months.
- To avoid the further spread of the influenza, we will have you leave your dog in the car and come into the reception area to pre-pay for your vaccine.
- Technicians, under supervision of Dr. Bauer and Dr. Frye, will evaluate your dog and take a temperature to make sure there is no fever or other signs of illness, and then give the Canine Influenza vaccine. This will be done in an open-air clinic in our parking lot behind the building.
- Staff is only vaccinating for Canine Influenza, no other services will be available.
- The cost of the vaccine is $39.59 and it will need to be boostered in 14 to 21 days, for an additional $39.59. There will be no exam fee with the tech appointment.
- If your dog is not current on an exam, please call the office to schedule an exam with a doctor to start on the Canine Influenza Vaccine series.
Call 708-423-3200 with any questions you have. Please note that phones will not be in operation on Sunday.
