Man Blocking School Driveway Had Fentanyl In Car: Cops
Police K9 finds fentanyl in car blocking driveway of Southwest Elementary School in Evergreen Park, prosecutor said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A man blocking the driveway of an elementary school in Evergreen Park was arrested when officers found heroin in his car cut with fentanyl, prosecutors said. Michael Fitzgerald, 51, of Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Around 11:42 a.m. April 18, officers investigated a car blocking access to Southwest Elementary School 99th Street and Central Park Avenue. Fitzgerald allegedly did not consent to a search of his car, so police brought in a K-9. The dog found a prescription bottle filled with suspected heroin and a straw, plus a baggie with residue that tested positive for fentanyl, the prosecutor said.
Fitzgerald has an active warrant out of Lake County, Indiana, for possession of a controlled substance, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s website. His last known address is the 5400 block of Foxwood Drive in Oak Lawn. The assistant public defender told the judge that Fitzgerald works as a plumber.
