Mr. Glennon racked up some pretty impressive numbers along the way as he set out to raise $40,000 -- $1,000 for each year he has taught at Marist -- for the school’s scholarship fund:

  • Miles rode: 1,054.6
  • Feet climbed: 22,229 ft.
  • Chased by 11 dogs
  • Number of dead raccoons spotted on road: 3 (plus one dead skunk)

The teacher was greeted by former and current students, colleagues and supporters of Marist High School upon his arrival Sunday from Valparaiso, IN.

Mr. Glennon said it was hard to get motivated some of the mornings during his two-week journey that started out cold and wet.

“I’m thrilled that it’s over,” the teacher said. “I’m glad to be back on safe ground.”
