MartyrsFest Offers Big Rides, Bands, Bingo And More This Weekend

Patch has rounded up the most important details of Martyrs Fest, Sept. 24 to Sept. 26, at Queen of Martyrs Parish in Evergreen Park.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Send summer out in a blaze of glory when the Queen of Martyrs parish carnival makes its triumphant return this weekend. The 2021 edition of Martyrs Fest runs Friday through Sunday, Sept. 24, Sept. 25 and Sept. 26. MartyrsFest is the parish’s main fundraiser of the year, so come hungry, thirsty and ready to play some raffles or hop on some rides.

Complimentary rides will be offered to persons with special needs and a companion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, courtesy of Alpine Amusements and the fest committee. The carnival will be closed to the public for the first hour. Immediately following, complimentary pizza provided by Barraco’s will be served in the beer garden. The fest committee is committed to providing an experience with reduced stimulation and multisensory awareness.

Hours:

5 p.m. to midnight Friday, Sept. 24
Noon to midnight Saturday, Sept. 25
1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26

Carnival Hours:

Until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Mega passes are $45 Sept. 24 to Sept. 26. Unlimited ride bracelets are available from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Beer Tent will be open all three days of the carnival, screening all the big college and Bears' games, and maybe the Packers. Featured restaurants and vendors include:

Raffle and Games o' Chance

The grand prize is $10,000. A total of nine cash prizes will be given. Tickets are $50 and only 1,000 will be sold. Buy 'em in the beer tent.

Pull-tabs, split the pot and basket raffles will also be available at the fest. Win a liquor basket, 42-inch flat screen TV and much more. Bingo takes place on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. under the beer tent.
