Middle-Aged Hockey Rats Invited To Play In Capuano Hockey Tournament
Spots are still available for 40+ coed teams for the Daniel V. Capuano Classic 4-on-4 Hockey Tournament Feb. 24 and Feb. 25 at Yukich Fields
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Middle-aged hockey rats are invited to sign up for the 40+ co-ed teams in the upcoming Daniel V. Capuano Classic 4-on-4 hockey tournament Feb. 24 and Feb 25.
The main event is filled, but there are still plenty of spots open for the 40+ age group. The tournament will be held at the Capuano Ice Rink at Yukich Fields, 89th Street and Kedzie Ave., Evergreen Park.
The cost to put a 12-player team plus goalies on the ice is $500. A portion of proceeds from entry fees will be split 50-50 between the Evergreen Park Recreation Department and the Ende, Menzer, Walsh & Quinn CFD Retirees, Widows and Orphans Fund.

Spectators are invited to watch some competitive hockey. Food and beverage vendors will be in attendance. Split-the-pot and stick raffles, along with chuck-a-puck raffles are featured. The tournament is named in honor of Daniel Capuano, a Chicago firefighter who died in the line of duty in December 2015. Capuano was a 15-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department, and had worked 16 years as a part-time firefighter and paramedic for the Evergreen Park Fire Department.
