Mustang Athlete Of The Week: Katherine Beyer

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Katherine Beyer, a senior runner of the Evergreen Park Community High School Cross Country team, is the Mustang Athlete of the Week.

Beyer was nominated by her head coach, Patrick Doran, after qualifying for the sectional round after a strong showing in the regional.

She joined Rocco Cipolla and Carmela Woods as Mustangs who qualified for sectional. Cipolla, who has also qualified for the state cross country meet, and Woods were both named co-athletes of the week earlier in the fall.

Beyer and Woods closed out their season at sectionals "in excellent fashion," Doran and assistant coach Bryn Zingrebe said in a statement.

"They competed at sectionals against the top runners in the area and they both put on a great performance," the statement read. "It has been a pleasure and a privilege to watch these girls compete, and the Cross Country team would like to say thank you for all of your hard work."
