Mustang Pride Starts Early in Evergreen Park

EPCHS Principal Bill Sanderson and some of his veteran student leaders recently paid a visit to Evergreen Park District 124 schools.

Evergreen Park Community High School’s Mustang Pride starts at an early age in the Evergreen Park community. EPCHS Principal Bill Sanderson and some of his veteran student leaders including Heidi Burke, Angela Bosch and Ailyn Esquivel, recently paid a visit to Evergreen Park District 124 elementary schools. The purpose of their visit was to deliver t-shirts to all of the kindergartners. The customized shirts read, EPCHS Future Mustangs – Class of 2032. The year printed on the t-shirts represents the year that they will graduate from EPCHS.

The annual kindergarten visits started in the 2010-11 school year. Principal Sanderson said, “The message to these students and their families is that EPCHS is a great place to receive their high school education. It is also a sense of family that has immense pride and outstanding school spirit.” He went on to say, “I ask the kindergartners to wear the t-shirt proudly and as often as they can, but when they outgrow it, put it away and on the day they graduate from EPCHS and walk across the stage, hand it to me, and I will hand them their diploma. This exchange symbolizes the success students achieve in Evergreen Park.”
