Mustang Pride Starts Early In Evergreen Park
T-shirts for Dist. 124 kindergartners show how early Mustang pride starts for the class of 2036.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Since 2011, the Evergreen Park Community High School has visited the village’s public grammar schools and distributed future Mustang T-shirts to kindergarten students. The tradition was started by former principal Bill Sanderson and is now being continued by current principal Matt Dugan.
Dugan visited all four Evergreen Park District 124 elementary schools to personally deliver the T-shirts that read “EPCHS Future Mustangs – class of 2036” to all the kindergartners Oct. 3, Oct. 5, Oct. 10 and Oct. 11. The purpose is to start getting parents thinking early about EPCHS as an option for high school and the school’s great amenities and programs.
This year’s EPCHS senior class was the first group of kindergarteners back in 2011 to receive their t-shirts. The EPCHS students that accompanied the principal were alumni of those very same classes years ago. The kindergarteners have been asked to save their shirts and show their shirts as they cross the stage at their high school graduation ceremony.
