Ronald McDonald Appears At New Evergreen Park McDonalds
The new McDonald's restaurant in Evergreen Park hosts Santa and Ronald McDonald this Saturday, Dec. 23.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A new pair of golden arches will soon rise over Western Avenue. McDonald’s is opening a new restaurant this Wednesday, Dec. 20, in Evergreen Park. Mayor Jim Sexton will cut the ribbon at 10:30 a.m., with the restaurant opening to the public at 11 a.m.
The new McDonald’s is located on the west side of Western Avenue at 9156 S. Western Avenue, next to the Meijer’s gas station. The restaurant is equipped with extra routers for guests who want to work or surf the net while eating, and a media table that includes chargers for your laptop and smartphone. The new McDonald’s was built from the ground up and replaces the restaurant at 2620 W. 95th St. connected to the BP station, which closed Dec. 12.
In celebration of the new location’s grand opening, McDonald’s has a host of activities planned throughout the week, including special promotions, breakfast with Santa and an appearance by Ronald McDonald. Residents can present the coupon included with this story and receive a special breakfast with Santa for $1.99. Coupons can also be picked up at Evergreen Park Village Hall and the Evergreen Park Public Library. Planned events include:

- Dec. 20 -- Grand opening, ribbon cutting 10:30 a.m., with doors opening to the public at 11 a.m.
- Dec. 22-24 -- Every 100th car in line at the drive-thru wins. Prizes include swag bag filled with McDonald's merchandise, a $100 American Express gift card and free Big Macs for a year.
- Dec. 23 -- Breakfast With Santa, 9 to 11 a.m. Meet Ronald McDonald at 12:30 p.m. Face-painting with Dede the Clown from 2 to 4 p.m. Crafts by Peggy, games and activities featured throughout the day.
- Dec. 30 -- All you can eat pancake breakfast fundraiser benefiting the Evergreen Park Fire Department.
The new McDonald’s at 91st Street and Western Avenue is an independently operated franchise owned by Randy Conn. Conn owns ten other McDonald’s restaurants in the area, including two locations in Oak Lawn at 91st Street and Cicero Avenue and at 95th Street and McVickers Avenue.
