New Transitional Suites Offer New Concept to Rehab
Rosemont-based Transitional Care Management recently opened the new Transitional Suites at Evergreen, 10124 S. Kedzie Ave., for patients who need a bridge from hospital to home.
Many patients recovering from complicated surgeries or chronic conditions often need rehabilitation and a transition from hospital to the home. One area center has just opened to assist in that transition.
The new Transitional Suites at Evergreen, 10124 S. Kedzie Ave., recently opened and offers “an innovative, short-term stay, rehabilitation concept that combines state-of-the-art technology, clinical excellence, caring support and an environment that is focused on the overall well-being while providing a highly effective and, perhaps, unexpectedly pleasant rehabilitation experience,” according to the company.
A newer concept, Transitional Suites at Evergreen combines the positive attributes of premier healthcare with the tranquility of a spa and a fine hotel, company representatives boast. Offering an experience unlike a typical hospital stay, the suites treat their guests—not patients—to spa robes and care for them primarily in private suites with wireless internet, flat-screen televisions, sitting areas for visitors and iPod terminals. Between therapies, guests may partake in afternoon tea, home-made cuisine and activities like movie nights, educational programs and yoga.

“This holistic approach and the ‘extra touches’ contribute to patients’ total well-being as they undergo rigorous, customized therapy programs to help hasten recovery, increase performance and expedite a safe return to home,” according to the company.
Patients may also benefit from having an “expert medical team” while rehabbing in the center with the latest equipment and specially-trained therapists.

“The new Transitional Suites at Evergreen redefine the short-term rehabilitation experience and offer an appealing local option for our residents,” said Evergreen Park Mayor James J. Sexton who was on-hand at the Suite’s grand opening celebration. “We are delighted to see this reinvestment in Evergreen Park and pleased to offer a new, cutting-edge rehab option to the area.”
The company prides itself on helping patients get through the difficulty of their recovery process in a cushy facility and serene atmosphere.
“Helping patients recover from surgery, illness or disease and transition to everyday life in a spa-like, comfortable environment adds a new dimension to the healing process,” said Denise Norman, president of Rosemont-based Transitional Care Management, the management company behind the new Transitional Suites. “Evidence shows that environment plays a significant role in patient experience and outcomes. Healing design, like that which the new Transitional Suites offer, can improve a patient’s outlook on care, increase patient satisfaction and ultimately help support a patient’s journey toward recovery.”
This new trend is happening across the country, said Brian Cloch, chief executive officer of Transitional Care Management. “By offering this new alternative, we are re-defining the healthcare continuum and offering cost-effective, specialized care in a manner that is more appealing than current options to today’s healthcare consumer.”
