Northeast Elementary Principal Resigning At End Of Year
Jackie Janicke will be moving on to a new role in Flossmoor School District 161.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Jackie Janicke, principal of Northeast Elementary School in Evergreen Park, will resign at the end of the year after eight years in the role. She has accepted a position as the director of special education in the Flossmoor School District 161. Janicke announced her upcoming resignation in an email to school parents on Sunday.
"This is not the way I wanted to share this information with Northeast families," Janicke said. "However, we are in the midst of an incredibly unusual circumstance so I have to deliver this information via email. This will be my last year as Northeast principal."
Janicke said she has loved being Northeast principal and "having all of you as a part of my life."

"I’m excited to explore this new path in my career journey," she said. "I am also looking forward to being closer to home which will allow me to spend more time with my family. I will continue to work hard for all of you, support you and be your principal until the end of the school year."
Janicke's resignation is expected to be made official during the Wednesday, April 8 school board meeting that will be streamed live on the district's Facebook page.
