OCS Offers A Great Variety of Trips
Four one-day trips, plus a visit to Niagara Falls in September
The Office of Citizens’ Services, located in the Maher Community Center at 3450 W. 97th Street in Evergreen Park, celebrates fifty years of service this coming September. In addition to a long history of providing services and programs to the senior population of Village, the department is very well known for offering one more exciting annual program.
They plan some excellent trips!
The 2024 series of one-day and multi-day trips has just been released and the advance registrations are already coming in.
First on the list of one-day trips is a thrilling visit to the Broken Wagon Bison Ranch in Hobart, Indiana on Tuesday, June 4. A deluxe motor coach takes you out to this beautiful 35-acre farm, where you will ride a Bison Tour Wagon to see this herd of seventy buffalo grazing in open fields. This is followed by lunch at the Industrial Revolution Eatery and Grille in nearby Valparaiso. On the way home, enjoy some sweet treats when you stop at the Albanese Candy Factory. A great afternoon for only $95 per person. Deadline to register is Friday, May 3.
On Tuesday, July 9, the bus will head on up to Starved Rock to take in the “Tribute to the Stars – Elton John and Billy Joel”. All this with a delicious luncheon buffet included for only $110!
The city of Chicago sparkles with some of the greatest architecture in the world, and you are invited to board the Chicago Architectural Cruise on Wednesday, August 14! This trip is rated as one of the top ten tours in the United States. We then go to lunch at the legendary Pompei Restaurant in Little Italy. All that for only $110!
On Thursday, September 12, by special invitation, you are welcome to visit one of the most exciting and unusual homes in the Midwest…Wandering Tree Estates in North Barrington. This private event venue sits on 10 acres and includes miniature railroads displayed amongst numerous beautiful gardens. Lunch is included at a nearby upscale restaurant. All this for $115 per person.
Then, from Monday September 23 to Thursday, September 26, we take you to Niagara Falls in New York (American side) for a four-day, three-night getaway. Take the Maid of the Mist Boat Ride, enjoy the Cave of the Winds, as well as a 2-hour narrated Lockport Canal Cruise, along with a trip to the Seneca Niagara Casino. Three breakfasts and three dinners included for a single-occupancy price of $1,100 or double-occupancy at $895. A $100 deposit is due at signup, with the balance due by July 12.
