Poet Emily Dickinson Graces Evergreen Park Library
Veteran actress Betsey Means portrays American poet Emily Dickinson in honor of National Poetry Month on April 4.

To celebrate National Poetry Month, veteran actress Betsey Means from WomanLore, will visit the Evergreen Park Public Library on April 4 in the role American poet Emily Dickinson.
Locals from Amherst, MA, considered Dickinson an eccentric. The extremely introverted Emily, who died at age 56 in 1886, was known for her penchant for white clothing and her reluctance to greet guests, or later in life, even leave her room.
Most of her friendships were carried out by correspondence. Emily was a prolific private poet. Her poems questioned the nature of immortality and death. Through nature and life she was able to glimpse into a mystic dimension beyond worldly distractions. Dickinson is considered one of most loved and greatest American poets.
