Evergreen Park Police reports: April 6-12

THURSDAY, APRIL 12

No Entry for this Man

said they arrested a man after he was told to leave The Plaza, 9500 S. Western Ave.  At about 6:02 p.m., police arrested Michael D. Hardiman, 23, of Chicago and charged him with criminal trespass to property. Reports said Hardiman entered The Plaza after security told him that he wasn’t welcome anymore.  Police said he was in a restaurant in The Plaza, swearing at the restaurant owner and asking people for money. “He’s been told multiple times not to be on Plaza property,” police said.

Cops Catch Man for Driving while Revoked

At 10:46 a.m., Agapito Martinez, 51, of Chicago was arrested for driving on a revoked license, police said. According to reports, his license was previously revoked because he was driving under the influence. Police said they also issued Martinez tickets for improper lane usage and no valid insurance.

Woman Steals Accessories from Store

Police arrested Brittany M. Brown, 18, of Chicago and charged her with retail theft. According to reports, she took a necklace valued at $16.50 from Claire’s Boutique in The Plaza at about 4:55 p.m., and left without paying.

Walmart Retail Theft

Police arrested James S. Hudson, 69, of Chicago and charged him with retail theft. According to reports, about 12:06 p.m., he took a pair of hair clippers valued at $59.99 from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St.

Police Find Marijuana, Heroin and Cocaine on Traffic Stop

Police said at about 2:27 p.m., they arrested two people upon stopping a car and smelling burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. According to reports, police saw a white Lincoln Towne car traveling northbound on Kedzie Avenue in the 8800 block, improperly using a lane. When police stopped the car, they smelled the odor of burnt marijuana, police said. James J. Motel, 24, of Evergreen Park was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. According to reports, he had 1 gram of marijuana. According to reports, police found a rolled cigar behind the stereo of the vehicle. Motel admitted that it belonged to him.

A passenger traveling with Motel had .3 gram of heroin in her purse, police said. Jennifer L. Johnson, 47, of Evergreen Park was charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Police also charged her with a second charge of felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She had three baggies of cocaine totaling 1.1 grams police said.

TUESDAY, APRIL 10

Stolen Walmart Merchandise

At 6:25 p.m., police arrested Melvin Jimerson, 46, of Chicago and charged him with retail theft. Police said he took four soap products from Walmart totaling $27.52.

FRIDAY, APRIL 6

Walmart Felony Retail Theft

Police arrested Nick Benson, 26, of Oak Lawn and charged him with felony retail theft. According to reports, at about 9:21 p.m., Benson took four cameras from a display at Walmart and hid them in his jacket. They were valued at $216, police said. Since Benson had a previous conviction for a retail theft, police said they upgraded it to a felony.
