WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4
Man Swipes Electronics from Walmart
arrested Gary Johns, 24, of Oak Lawn and charged him with retail theft. According to reports, at about 9:47 p.m., Johns took $299 worth of electronics items from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. Johns was seen taking six cameras and an HD DVR, police said. According to reports, Johns put the digital cameras down the front of his jeans.

Cops Spot Drugs on Traffic Stop
Marc E. Lambotte, 38, of Chicago was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Police said Lambotte had .2 gram of heroin, two 2 mg alprazolam tablets, used to treat anxiety and panic disorder and .8 gram of marijuana. Lambotte was also charged with failure to wear a seatbelt and no valid insurance. At about 5 p.m., tactical officers stopped him at 87th Street and Rockwell Avenue, and smelled marijuana coming from his car, police said. After searching the vehicle, police found the drugs, according to reports.
Tip Leads Cops to Drugs
After getting a tip that people were selling drugs at a location in Evergreen Park, police tracked down the offenders. Police arrested David R. DeBold, 55 and Tina L. DeBold, 53, both of Worth and charged them with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance. According to reports, David had 5 tablets of 2 mg Xanax, a generic form of alprazolam, used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. Tina had a half a tablet of a 2-mg Xanax pill, reports said. According to police, tactical officers saw the two making an exchange and then later followed the car they drove in and stopped it at the intersection of 87th Street and Southwest Highway.

Walmart Retail Theft
According to reports, Lorraine A. Rollins, 21, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. Police said at about 9:26 p.m., she took Walmart items totaling $63.92.
MONDAY, APRIL 2
Man Nabbed for Healthcare Benefits Fraud
Police arrested Wendell E. Fisher, 31, of Chicago and charged him with Healthcare benefits fraud at around 6:40 p.m. According to reports, Fisher gave a different date of birth when he went to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers, 2800 W. 95th St., and gave false information in order to obtain treatment.
January Charge Upgraded to Felony
According to police, Kevin T. Lillybridge, 52, of Orlando Fla. Was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in January, and the charged was upgraded to a felony in April.
Police said Lillybridge carried a 9 mm Beretta handgun concealed that was immediately available to him in his vehicle and didn’t have a valid firearms owner identification card.
After police stopped Lillybridge on a traffic violation on Jan. 23 at 87th Street and Rockwell at about 9:21 p.m., his license came up as suspended. During the search of the vehicle, the pistol was discovered, police said. The complaint was signed on Apr. 2 at a court hearing, upgrading the crime to a felony.
Man’s Charge Upgraded to Felony
Evergreen Park Police upgraded an aggravated unlawful use of a weapon charge to a felony. According to reports, Jamal Mahmoud, 34, of Oak Lawn was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on Jan. 19. Police said Mahmoud had an uncased and loaded Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun in his car that appeared to be “immediately available.” In April, police upgraded the charge to a felony.

Resident Claims Blank Check was Stolen
Evergreen Park Police said a man took a blank check from someone who lived in the village. According to reports, police arrested Michael J. Navarro, 62, of Evergreen Park at 4:06 p.m., and charged him with theft based on a complaint received on March 20.
