SATURDAY, JULY 7

Markham Woman Accused of Obstructing Police

charged Reshanda Davis, 29, of Markham with attempt obstructing police. According to reports, Davis gave false information to an officer while at a traffic stop. Police said they stopped Davis at 95^th Street and St. Louis Avenue at about 4:31 a.m., because she didn’t signal while changing lanes. According to reports, she lied about her name and birth date and also had a Cook County warrant out for her arrest from 2003. Davis was also charged with suspended license and driving with no insurance.

Assault Charge at McDonalds

According to Evergreen Park Police, Mashawn Patton, 18, of Evergreen Park was arrested after allegedly threatening a person at McDonalds, 8715 S. Kedzie, saying that “he was going to go home and get a gun.” Police arrested Patton at 11:15 a.m. and charged him with assault.

FRIDAY, JULY 6

Woman Hides Steaks in Seat of her Walker

While a woman on a walker was shopping in Aldi, 2541 W. 95^th St., at 11:52 a.m., store workers saw her lift two T-bone steaks. According to reports, as Karen Crosby, 50, of Chicago was walking down the aisle of Aldi, she took three T-bone steaks valued at $20.97 and placed them inside the seat of her walker. Police said an employee saw her via camera in the store. The video shows her grab the steaks from the display and put them in the seat of the walker, police said, “But she paid for two plums,” that were in her hands.

Man Accused of Obstructing Police During Investigation

As police were investigating a claim of criminal trespass to a foreclosed home at 6:28 a.m., they ran into a man who interfered in the investigation and threatened harm to officers, reports said. According to police, during the investigation, George D. Urukalo, 19, of Evergreen Park, walked into a home at 9624 S. California while the police were questioning someone else and “told the police to get out of the house.” Reports said. He threatened physical harm towards the officer and called them pigs. Urukalo also interfered with the tactical officer who was investigating criminal trespass to land, preventing the officer from getting information and also refused to provide information on himself, police said. Urukalo was charged with obstruction and aggravated assault.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4

Felony Burglary Charge

While driving down 95^th Street at about 12:24 p.m., an officer saw a male suspect running in front of a jewelry store at 3339 W. 95^th St. that had its glass front door shattered, police said. According to reports, video surveillance shows Reginald Sims, 43, of Chicago breaking out the front door, take jewelry then place it in a box that he had in his hand.  Police said he took $3199 worth of jewelry.  Sims was charged with felony burglary.
